Due to all of the controversy regarding this film I had to wait until I was living in Australia for a year to see this opus fully uncut. I am a huge Death Wish fan and Charles Bronson - "Die Hard" fan. Bronson as an actor just kicked so much ass. Death Wish II follows such a wretched formula that everything is spelled out with blood. In Death Wish II, vigilante Paul Kersey hits the streets to avenge the brutal rape and murder of his daughter (who had already been rendered comatose after an attack in the first film) and his Hispanic housekeeper. Winner's first Death Wish sequel is, in a narrative sense, a stronger film than its predecessor; that is, if you forgive the plethora of coincidence on which the film's main plot rests.
