The skim-around on the other side was full and floating, thus allowing leaves underneath. ?The skimmer works fine but after you attach sweeper to it after awhile the sweeper wraps itself around skimmer and tips it over. I had to dig around the get them out. We had a storm and naturally there were leaves and such in the skimmer baskets. Very fragile. My original basket on one side was full and I pulled it out with no leaves left behind. As of today's date, BBB has had no response.Skim-A-Round basket does not work as advertised. I got two that are to big and the company will not respond to my requests for a return shipping label! DON'T BUY ONEI put this in my pool for about 1 hour, just floats to the top of the water, letting all of the debris pass by. They will delete any negative comments or anyone saying this product doesn’t work and only promotes positive comments.Bought this product because it looked like something that could work but totally did not! The skim-around just wasn’t worse it, because my original skimmer baskets work just as well.I LOVE IT!!! Evenwith the bottom drain closed to get 100% flow thru the skimmer it still floats. I am very disappointed in this product.Product did not fit properly in pool. Does nothing.When questioning the company as to why it floats like this they wanted to sell me a $4 accelerator disk and claimed that it was a needed improvement that they had identified with.I bought this item (should have done research first) and guess what, it didn’t work. Refilling the pool isn’t an emergency of you use a skim-a-round … I bought two with the mesh covers after reading all of the Facebook reviews. They sent me an email telling me the item was dirty and had scratches on it. !Just floats to the top of the skimmer.
After trying all 3 rings at different heights I was left returning this item after 5 days. Save yourself a lot of anguish and money, look elsewhere. We have tried putting the skimmer at different locations but still does not work properly. Cost me $12 to ship it back and now they say I am getting a partial refund because of heavy use and/or return within 72 hours which if is the reason it is bogus also. Shame on this company!!!!! Return not worth the hassel because you have to pay return shipping and it has to pass an inspection to get a refund. I took off my flapper and BOOM started right up and all of the noseeums floating on my pool were gone in less than an hour. On July 16, 2019 BBB submitted a written request to the company encouraging them to address the pattern of complaints. I refuse to accept anything less than what I paid which was $72.00.The website is horrible and they have no customer service. All it did was allow air into the system and interrupted the flow going to my filter which then shut off my heater. I followed all the instructions but it wouldn't work.
