I'm shopping for another company that makes decent machines. We have small dogs under 15lbs so the spots aren't that big. It sure can Lisa but you will need the optional bare floor tool when using it on hard floors like Tile. Sorry for the lag. It is a Bissell turbo Proheat 1900-2. Doesn't work like a rug doc but it works for small areas. It won't work unless it's clicked in. It does get in the tank but it comes out very easy. There's nothing that states you can't, but the method this machine utilizes to deep clean, pull up moisture and scrub carpet fibers while using the Bissell cleaning solution, doesn't make it efficient for dry cleaning a carpet.

When using a carpet cleaner after you release the trigger that just put down the soap water, it then just becomes a wet dry vacume cleaner .
Pet pro carpet cleaner is sounding louder than normal and can smell a burning like a belt, but i checked and cleaned all belts. Yes, I have used my Carpet Cleaner, it is wonderful, the machine is of light weight and very easy to handle, as I am a Senior Citizen and I could handle it well.
